Safety: (1) Do only maintenance you are trained to do and keep all body parts out of machinery.
(2) Always use our 14 step lockout/tagout procedure before doing any maintenance, clearing jams, or getting into machinery for any reason; be aware of stored energy.

(4) Use proper PPE (gloves, eye protection, hearing protection).
(5) Be aware of and communicate with your co-worker at all times (ex: forklift driver).

Purpose of Position: Responsible for laying out plywood to APA and mill standards.
Perform standard duties as a member of a spreader crew, from turning sheets, to feeding core, to laying core.
All work is performed in the process of creating plywood.
Essential Functions: These duties are designated as ADA Essential Functions and must be performed in this job Lay-up plywood according to APA and mill standards.
Perform daily pre-inspections of equipment, completing required paperwork and reporting any maintenance issues immediately.
Keep the immediate work area free of wood debris and keep sticker racks organized.
Cleanup will be done on a continual basis to ensure a clean, organized and safe work environment.
Use core and sizing saws to cut veneer to product specifications.
Make tickets and staple onto units with correct date, time, and product.
Required to follow plywood and veneer stacking guidelines at all times.
Perform Spreader functions such as feeding core, laying core and turning sheets.
This includes understanding MDO manufacturing procedures to ensure quality standards are met.
Required to operate MDO press with an understanding of proper press settings and panel feeding techniques that ensure panels are properly processed in the press.
Must be able to staple and place MDO paper on panels and maintain proper feeding speeds to ensure that the panels are pressed in a timely manner.
Will be required to scrape press platens to ensure that the press in kept in such a condition to allow MDO to be pressed.
Non Essential Functions: These duties are secondary in nature and are not classified as ADA essential.
The worker may be required to rotate to different positions for cross training purposes or to facilitate production.
Job duties for other positions are outlined in their individual job descriptions.
Assist co-workers or Maintenance personnel in basic maintenance procedures or fixing String Machine plug-ups.
The worker may be responsible for cleanup activity during down times, changeovers, or between shifts.
This activity will consist of removing veneer scrap or debris from the work area using a broom, rake, or shovel.
Other duties as assigned.
