com Position Summary: The Site Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our maintenance program and management of the maintenance team.
Production runs day shift Monday – Friday 6:00am-2:30 with scheduled overtime during peak demand.
In addition to on shift activities there are maintenance personnel who work swing shift Monday – Thursday and weekends day shift.

Key Responsibilities and Duties: Working with the team to proactively identify safety issues, and taking measures to address concerns Actively supervising and developing the maintenance team associates to ensure effective communication across shifts, and with the production teams Utilizing predictive and preventive maintenance systems to reduce unscheduled downtime Efficient use of reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure uptime, production volume and quality goals are met and improved year over year Implementing effective training processes to build team capacity by enhancing and building the team's technical skills Utilizing computer-based programs to support effective prioritization of maintenance requests, maintenance inventory management, and maintenance resource delegation Capital project planning and execution including creating a project scope, obtaining quotes, coordinating resources, and execution of the install on time and in budget.
Planning to ensure the maintenance supplies budget is spent effectively in the short term and long term based on the predictive maintenance program and mill needs.
Basic Qualifications: At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory role in an industrial environment Consistent demonstration of leadership skills that positively influence safety, environmental, quality, productivity and people development Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching and development Strong planning and organizational skills Proven ability to lead a team, to be accountable and meet department metrics and goals to improve mill performance Strong work ethic, good judgment, and decision-making skills Knowledgeable in the areas of hydraulics, air systems, mechanical drives, mechanical components, installation methods, troubleshooting and repair, welding, and basic industrial electrical Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based programs as well as proven expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance methods including maintenance planning software such as Mpulse.
Must be flexible in hours worked to assure the sawmill is ready to run for the next shift.
Must be able to manage all aspects of a team of employees: scheduling, cross training, discipline and basic human resources needs.
Extended hours may be required, as well as periodically working different shifts.
Travel: Some travel to other NWH locations may be required for meetings and region continuous improvement projects.
