Evergreen Engineering® is seeking an experienced full-time Construction Manager to join our dynamic and innovative team.
This position provides client representation during the design and construction phases of the project.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate as the Client Representative to plan and manage construction projects by effectively utilizing contractor resources to provide a finished product that meets all aspects of the owner’s specifications and design.
This requires the candidate to be able to coordinate and supervise the construction process from concept to completion.
Provide constructability reviews during the engineering design phases of the projects.
Prepare project development through construction and commissioning MS Project schedules.
Develop capital project cost estimates throughout the various stages of the project.
Develop equipment vendor specifications utilized for bidding and vendor selection.
Review and approve equipment vendor drawings for construction.
Develop installation contractor bid packages, including client-specified scope and project documents to support the project funding process.
Facilitate contractor site bid walks as required during the bidding phases.
Facilitate contractor qualification reviews to assist clients in selecting the appropriate contractors for the project.
Interface with clients, contractors, and our Field Services team on project development and during construction.
Review and respond to RFIs from vendors and construction contractors.
Perform field cost estimating as required, identifying out-of-scope items and providing cost and schedule impacts to complete the necessary found work.
Direct the completion of projects on time and on budget.
Work with relevant jurisdictional authorities during the permitting process and ensure that all applicable inspections are completed during construction.
Meet with clients and contractors and conduct project reviews.
Direct project closeout activities at project completion.
Complete project Bill of Material documents.
Identify critical spare parts that need to be purchased and on site based on vendor recommendations and client’s requests.
Work with the Maintenance departments to develop necessary Preventive Maintenance plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education Requirements:
Degree or coursework in Construction Engineering; Construction Management; Project Management; Industrial Plant Maintenance or Operations; Engineering; or related field preferred.
Experience and Skills:
Previous project and construction management experience with emphasis on Heavy Industry/Boiler/Pulp & Paper, or wood manufacturing facilities strongly preferred.
Five years of relevant experience, especially managing maintenance outages.
Excellent computer skills and familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Project.
Ability to follow through with little supervision.
Ability to work in a customer-focused, team-based environment.
Understanding and skills in assessing a customer’s requirements/needs in the field.
Effective communication and impromptu problem-solving skills.
Position Type / Hours of Work:
This is a full-time in-office position with up to 30% travel.
Most on-site work is completed in the Northwest; occasional projects can be in the Southeast and Canada.
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.

or 7:00 a.
m.
to 4:00 p.
m.
A 9/80 schedule option is also available.
