Quality Assurance Technician - 4:00pm - 12:00am shift, after training period

*SPECIFIC DUTIES AND TASKS:*
Includes, but are not limited to the following duties:
* Conduct product analysis to ensure product meets quality and food safety standards before release
* Maintain and organize production and QA documents and logs
* Conduct microbiological testing and other required analytical testing of in-process and finished product samples
* Perform line checks
* Milk sampling and testing to ensure regulatory requirements are being met
* Perform temperature monitoring
* Participate in GMP audits of the facility
* Data entry and shelf-life analysis
* Participate in mock trace exercises
* Assist in sampling for monthly ODA visits
* Inspection of equipment and plant for cleanliness and other food safety issues
* Maintain a clean and organized laboratory and uphold GLPs
* Allergen testing and documentation for product changeovers
* Chemical Titrations
* Help maintain plant hold and release program and documentation
* Regularly communicate with management regarding quality and food safety issues
* Conduct environmental sampling and maintain current environmental monitoring program
* Work with management to train and educate employees to ensure success of the Food Safety Program
*NECESSARY SKILLS, ABILITIES AND AMBITIONS:*
* Familiarity with food manufacturing practices
* Experience working in a food laboratory
* Experience with instruments used in quality testing (i.
e.
, pH meter, moisture analyzer, viscometer, FOSS FT1, etc.
)
* Ability to effectively read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, stooping, squatting, standing, twisting
* Repeatedly lifting and moving 50 lbs
* Excellent communication skills; able to relay information clearly, receive information openly and follow up in a timely manner
* A hands-on, self-starter who works well in a team setting, as well as on their own
* A desire to learn new skills and take on new tasks
* Ability to multitask
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is necessary to perform this job
* Interest in working in an innovative environment with a team of supportive colleagues
* College degree in related field preferred, but not required
*COMPENSATION:*
* From $20.
00/hour, based on experience
