As an estimator at CR Contracting, you'll lead by example, championing the company culture.
This is a full-time position based in Tumalo Oregon.
*Duties & Responsibilities*
· The Project Estimator will be required to search multiple plan centers, agency sites, engineering plan rooms, etc.
across multiple states on a weekly basis for potential opportunities.
· Reach out and work with Engineers, Agencies, etc.
on upcoming potential projects to help forecast future opportunities.
· The Construction Project Estimator will gather, evaluate, and then prepare detailed total cost information for cost-effectiveness for and during the construction bid process.
· Visit construction sites to gather information and analyze proposals, specifications, plan sets, and construction documents to understand the project.
· The estimator coordinates and oversees the vendors and/or subcontractors in the bid process.
· Determine the time, labor, materials, and product costs for the project and communicate the requirements to the client.
· Develop project estimates in the estimating software with attention to pavement rehabilitation.
· Prepare proposals, cost estimates, budgets, and updates for the client and the project managers.
· Review plans, and specifications to understand the project as a whole and then prepare detailed estimates.
· Research and acquire sub-contractors.
· Estimate time, labor, construction materials, and product costs to determine the overall cost.
· Provide subcontractors with drawings and specifications prior to the bid process.
· Attend the pre-bid meetings.

● Excellent communication skills to connect with teams, contractors, and stakeholders, mitigating delays.
● Understanding of market and regional factors impacting the market.
● 2-4 years of estimating experience
● Strong attention to detail and timeliness.
● Ability to read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications.
● Knowledge of schedule logic, construction management methods, and sequencing.
● Knowledge of means and methods of construction.
● Ability to maintain collaborative relationships both internally and externally.
● Current driver’s license and insurance with a good driving record.
● Proficient in MS Office with a focus on Word & Excel.
● Strong math skills and above average computer skills.
● Critical thinking skills with ability to problem solve and make effective decisions.
● Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously using good time management skills.
● High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Degree in construction management or estimating, or related field experience is a plus.
Civil Engineering is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.
