The Quality Control Lead helps implement food safety and quality compliance programs by overseeing the food production processes.
This role must understand food processing, be able to meet food safety requirements and GFSI standards, as well as collaborate with team members both inside and outside of the department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ensure all product testing is completed to meet customer specifications
Perform immediate non-conformance response and investigation, including working with the Food Safety Manager to drive corrective and preventive actions
Coordinate responses to products that test out of spec
Ensure the consistent and accurate completion of all required forms in Galileo
Ensure the consistent and accurate completion of all paper forms related to quality tests of production
Manage the upkeep and performance of the plant's metal detectors and checkweighers
Monitor and verify sanitation of the facility and equipment.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
PCQI and HACCP certified or willing and able to obtain.
At least 1 year of proven supervisory experience.
At least 1 years of experience in a food manufacturing facility regulated by the FDA.
Strong computer and organizational skills; working knowledge of MS Office.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Activities include walking, kneeling, lifting, climbing ladders and stairs, bending, stacking, twisting, pulling, pushing, inserting, sitting, squatting, standing, accumulating and collating motions.
Be able to handle 50# of material with assistance occasionally.
