Perform rough and finish carpentry from beginning to end
Construct concrete forms; have some place and finish skills, placing of concrete pads and footings
Safety and fall protection knowledge and use
Examine drawings to determine dimensions
Use of auto-level and laser level equipment for site layout and excavation
Install doors and windows
Install sub-flooring
Install finish materials such as hardware and trim
Reliable transportation to job-site
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Essex Carpenters must have knowledge of materials, methods, tools and equipment appropriate to building construction.
They should be experienced in the building of structures such as concrete forms, scaffolding and shelters, conversant with placing and finishing concrete, experienced in framing and siding of buildings and other structures, as well as have finish carpentry and hardware installation experience.
TOOLS NEEDED:
Nail bags, hammer, 25’ tape measure, utility knife, gloves, hardhat, safety glasses, tri-square, chalk box, catspaw, framing square chisel, pry bar, cordless drill, bit index, nail set, flatbar, 4’ level, and pliers.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience: HS Diploma, Associate’s (AA) degree or equivalent from two-Year College or technical school preferred; three to five years recent related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
Ability to apply the concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
