DFN is looking for Equipment Operators in the Central Lane County area to help us expand our fiber network.
We are currently looking for candidates who hold their CDL.
We encourage all those with equipment operating experience to apply, but preference will be given to those who have prior experience with directional drilling.

POSITION PURPOSE: An equipment operator is responsible for operating and maintaining heavy machinery and equipment used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of outside plant infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operate a variety of heavy machinery and equipment including but not limited to trenchers, directional boring machines, aerial lifts, dozers, and skidsteer loaders for the installation, maintenance, and repair of the outside plant.
Maintain a safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations along with company policies and procedures.
Take appropriate action in the event of a work site accident or incident.
Follow established safety procedures including use of personal protective equipment to minimize exposure to roadway hazards.
Immediately alert other employees and supervisors of any apparent or developing hazards.
Safely operate and maintain company vehicles.
Maintain equipment by performing routine checks and maintenance.
Keep detailed records.
Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
This is a high productivity position with minimal supervision.
Maintain good customer rapport by listening to and resolving customer concerns or questions.
Be knowledgeable about DFN products and services, promoting available services to current and potential customers when appropriate.
With training, possess the ability to read prints and other engineering documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Mechanically inclined and detail oriented
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Computer skills: use of PC and industry specific applications
Clean driving record and valid commercial driver’s license.
Self motivated, ability to work independently or in a team
Professional appearance, customer service oriented
Willing to work after business hours on-call occasionally as needed
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
