DFN is looking for motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as Lineman in the Central Lane County area.
We have four positions available to help us expand our fiber network.
No previous Lineman experience? No problem.
We provide extensive on the job training for this position.
This position is considered heavy physical work.
Candidates with a background in manual labor, construction, or other physically demanding roles are encouraged to apply.
Additional compensation is considered for those who hold a valid CDL.

POSITION PURPOSE: Perform telecommunication lineman tasks for new or existing outside plant builds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Climb telecommunication poles, up to 50 feet high, using gaff climbers to install or repair equipment in a variety of environments.
Operate heavy equipment and power tools to install telecommunications poles.
Dig trenches using hand tools and equipment.
Maintain a safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations along with company policies and procedures.
Take appropriate action in the event of a work site accident or incident.
Follow established safety procedures including use of personal protective equipment to minimize exposure to roadway hazards.
Immediately alert other employees and supervisors of any apparent or developing hazards.
Safely operate and maintain company vehicle, including a bucket truck.
Keep detailed records.
Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
This is a high productivity position with minimal supervision.
Maintain good customer rapport by listening to and resolving customer concerns or questions.
Be knowledgeable about DFN products and services, promoting available services to current and potential customers when appropriate.
With training, possess the ability to read prints and other engineering documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Mechanically inclined and detail oriented
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Computer skills: use of PC and industry specific applications
Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred
Self motivated, ability to work independently or in a team
Professional appearance, customer service oriented
Willing to work after business hours on-call as needed
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
