JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Forklift Operator - Utility
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS:
* Participate in safety and training programs and meetings.
* Safely operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and move them to and from storage areas, machines centers, railroad cars, and or trucks.
* Reviewing freight bills for special instructions, correct tallies, and inspecting freight for damage.
* Attention to detail is a must have.
Tag accuracy and reconciliation are extremely important.
* Ensure that workers have sufficient supplies at all times to maximize their productivity
* Monitor and maintain Industrial Lifts performing daily equipment checks such as oil and coolant levels and greasing on regular intervals.
* Assist with production and shipping
* Complete assignments as requested by the supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
* Responding promptly and professionally to company needs.
* Reading, legible writing, and basic math skills.
* Ability to complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents.
* Able to interact positively with coworkers in a production environment.
* Able to occasionally lift 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting, bending, stooping and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
* Must be able to perform physical labor requiring continual and repetitive use of large motor skills to stand, and maintain balance.
* Must be able to perform continual and repetitive tasks with use of fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
* Must be able to work on hard surfaces for long periods of time.
* Must be able to work in all weather conditions including seasonally hot or cold temperatures and in climate weather.
* Ability to operate hand and power tools.
* Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.
* Basic proficiency in operating a computer.
* Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Valid state issued driver’s license.
PREFERRED:
* Lumber experience
* Forklift Certification.

Must be able to perform job duties for eight (8) working hours plus per day, including performing data entry on personal computer for long periods of time, sitting and standing for long periods of time, outdoor work and/or being exposed to inclement weather conditions.
