PRODUCTION MANAGER POSITION SUMMARY The Production Manager is a member of the Production Team reporting directly to the Plant Manager.
The Production Manager is accountable and responsible for managing departmental safety, environmental controls, development of production employees and plant production.
Including quality control, protection of equipment, and departmental cost controls.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES Reporting to the Production Manager are the hourly positions of assigned manufacturing assembly departments, Maintenance and Warehouse personnel in certain circumstances (overtime, weekends, Etc.
) This position will support and coordinate all training programs that support Plant Manufacturing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and develop production employees to achieve established goals of safety, environmental performance, production volume, quality, service, and cost.
Ensure production employees are properly oriented and trained.
Develop and implement continuous improvement within departmental employee performance through regular feedback, coaching and training.
Ensure that the department complies with regulations, Company policies and procedures.
Works with contractors and suppliers to meet Plant equipment and/or repair needs.
Review, analyze and make recommendations regarding safety, quality, expenses, productivity, and employee feedback.
Develop and/or implement departmental reporting as required.
Participate in controlling the production department budget.
Maintain a high standard of professional knowledge, ethics and practices when dealing with customers, suppliers, peers, subordinates, supervisors and other key stakeholders of the company.
Conduct oneself in a professional manner that reflects integrity and respect towards customers, suppliers, peers, subordinates, supervisors and other key stakeholders of the company.
Understand, support and adhere to the company’s health and safety policies, programs and procedures by communicating and promoting health and safety awareness to coworkers and subordinates.
Participate in the Company’s Finished Goods and Raw Material inventory count.
Other responsibilities and accountabilities as assigned by the Production Manager or General Manager.
Ensure optimal production flow while keeping efficiencies Address bottle necks on the production lines QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree and/or demonstrated and related equivalent experience.
5-10 years manufacturing experience leading people.
Effective team builder with demonstrated abilities.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate all levels of personnel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Team player and able to build and maintain relationships both internal and external.
Flexible to change and open to constructive feedback.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skillss Must have experience with welding and metal fabrication Paint process experience desired Occasional duties include operating forklift to assist with product flow and bring materials to the lines PHYSICAL DEMANDS To perform the duties of this job, an individual must be able to read, write understand and communicate by telephone using the English Language.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time (3-4 hours at a time).
The employee is frequently required to use hands for typing, 10-key operation, telephone dialing, feeling objects, tools, or controls.
Must be able to talk and hear.
Specific vision abilities required to this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee is regularly required to enter information into a computer.
WORK ENVIORNMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, toxic agents, violence, disease, or pathogenic substances.
