We are looking for a *Senior Buyer* for a *06+ months contract* position.

*Position: Senior Buyer* *Location: Eugene, OR* *Duration: 06+ months contract* *Position Summary:* * In this role, you will have full responsibility for a subset of our supply base in terms of executing purchase orders, presenting forecast changes, and working to resolve delivery challenges.
You will also collaborate with the larger global sourcing team to help identify and drive cost savings ideas and look for opportunities to increase our relationship with our strategic supply base.
The ability to problem-solve, negotiate, and analyze supplier performance data will be essential.
* The site Buyer also plays a key role in communicating key delivery updates to the Production Schedulers and site Operations leadership team as we work to deliver to our customers during a time of outstanding growth! * Finally, we would look for your support in navigating source changes from one supplier to another as well as supporting the procurement activities associated with new product launches.
This position works closely cross-functionally and across multiple manufacturing sites.
*Key Responsibilities:* * The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: * Responsible for understanding and implementing relevant company and department policies and procedures.
* Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future buying trends.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Be able to do Supplier quality management and balanced scorecard tracking.
* Be able to lead and do Supplier sourcing and validation.
* Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
* Complete other tasks as needed or directed by Management.
* All required SOP’s and quality records must be updated to reflect current work.
* Involvement with the development of tools and methods that are required to make Practical Process Improvement (PPI) a success within the Business Unit in order to improve processes, strengthen quality and drive efficiency.
* Strong analytical ability including the ability to effectively use data in problem solving and to evaluate process changes and impacts.
* To work in an FDA regulated manufacturing environment with focus on maintaining quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
* Review suppliers for compliance with company’s quality criteria.
* Must be able to independently manage multiple complex projects concurrently while meeting target dated.
Capture sourcing savings and report out to Management.
* Strong computer skills and experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Initiate purchase orders and amendments based on forecasted demand.
* Maintain standard lead-times and service objectives in the ERP system, while minimizing the use air freight and other expedite costs.
* Manage supplier relationships with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management; negotiates prices and delivery terms with guidance from a Procurement Manager or the Procurement Division Business Partner for assigned responsibilities and assesses financial risks of purchases.
* Coordinate as appropriate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.
* Prepare accurate and timely reports to Management.
* Support KPI performance metrics for supply assurance, productivity, inventory health, purchase order management, and vendor performance.
* Responsible developing sourcing strategies, coordinating with vendors, negotiating contracts, analyzing costs, managing logistics and finding ways to reduce procurement costs.
* Collaborate closely with other teams and departments to complete highest priority work as directed.
* Quickly escalate a problem that cannot be resolved to Management.
*Minimum Requirements:* * Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or other business-related discipline.
* 3-5 years of relevant procurement experience in a manufacturing supply chain and/ or Medical Device industry.
* Certification in CPIM or CSCP is a plus.
* Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification is a plus.
* Strong analytical skills combined with practical business acumen.
* Strong oral, written and presentation skills, confident negotiator, and strong multitasking and organizational skills.
* Ability to thrive in a global matrix and cross-functional team environment with Operations and with internal and external customers.
* Proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle E1) * Fluent in Microsoft Windows and Office (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).
* Excellent planning and time management skills.
* Extensive knowledge in direct procurement.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize when necessary.
* Be a self-starter with the ability to positively motivate others in a cooperative fashion.
* Encourage/challenge self for continuous improvement.
* Maintain confidentiality of sensitive laboratory and business data.
* Ensure compliance with corporate, site, and regulatory policies, practices, and guidelines * Can make day to day decisions in absence of Manager.
*Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:* * Work in office/computer/analysis * Normal manufacturing environment * Position may require frequent communication and walking to other areas in which designated PPE will be required * Position will require sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods of time * Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
* Must be able to work hours required to get the job done.
*Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:* * Project management skills, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
* Excellent computer knowledge.
Must be proficient wit Oracle E1 system.
* Excellent planning and time management skills.
* Ability to react appropriately to changing priorities, impending deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
* Demonstrated knowledge of ISO/FDA, GMP, ISO Regulations and other regulatory requirements for diagnostics manufacturing.
* OSHA safety compliance required * Demonstrates the values – Integrity, Intensity, Involvement and Innovation (The Four I’s) * Highly responsive to internal and external customers.
* High degree of experience and capability in working with all levels of the organization to achieve requirements.
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence and standard operating procedures.
* Proven ability to implement improvements/cost savings.
* Can make decisions in absence of Manager.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract Salary: $35.
