The Contractor Field Inspector will conduct special wood inspections for glulam manufacturers.
The Contractor must be able to pass a CA Department of State Architect Special Glulam Inspector exam (administered in Sacramento.
CA)
*Contractor Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Evidence of at least 3 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing of structural wood products.
Qualifying experience includes any one or more of the following:
- Special Inspector of glued laminated products.
- Auditor of glued laminating manufacture plants.
- Quality control supervisor or production manager of a glued laminating plant.
- Applicants may substitute up to 2 ½ years of the required 3 year experience as follows:
1.
Quality control supervisor or production manager of laminated veneer lumber
(LVL), parallel strand lumber (PSL), structural glued lumber (SGL), or wood I-joist.
2.
Similar engineered structural wood products.
* Overnight travel may be necessary.
* Must be able to pass CA Department of State Architect Special Glulam Inspector exam (administered in Sacramento, CA).
*Required Skills/Abilities:*
* Conduct special inspections for glulam manufacturers
* Must be able to work in a production facility
* Must be able to inspect the quality of the production facility's work and either accept or reject material.
*Education and Experience:*
_High school diploma or equivalent_
*Physical Requirements:*
Standing, Stooping, Walking, Balancing/Reaching, Lift up to 50 lbs.
Work in a production environment, possibly in inclement weather.
Ability to drive long distances and fly, if applicable
