*JOB DESCRIPTION * We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual to join VIP Hospitality as Assistant Sales Manager of the 100 room EVEN Hotel.
The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for increasing the corporate, group and leisure client base through consistent solicitations while establishing trust and rapport with clients to generate and boost revenues for the hotel.
The Assistant Sales Manager services new and existing accounts to ensure repeat business.
This position requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, an outgoing personality, and assisting the Director of Sales in providing a stable and positive work environment for the team.
· Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business through various efforts including sales calls, telemarketing, referrals, networking, etc.
to maximize room revenue.
· Respond to RFP's received via direct inquiries, third party lead sites, internet/website and walk-in leads and send proposals, collateral, and menus, logging all activity and following up with potential clients.
· Ensure quick and efficient responses to customer issues, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects.
· Attend all applicable daily, weekly and/or monthly department or hotel meetings to ensure proper communication and planning.
Ensure timely notification of customer specifications with other departments.
· Develop and execute quarterly action plans to ensure assigned segment deliverables.
· Develop and continually enhance relationships with key accounts to maintain and increase our market share.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all property offerings, food & beverage minimums, room rentals, hotel rates, strategies, discounts/promotions, meeting space layout and capacities, catering menus with pricing and any in-house events taking place.
· Participate in trade shows and community and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and the achievement of sales and revenue goals.
· Maintain accurate and legible records and files to provide sales history and continuity of quality service.
· Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
· Serves as a Leader in the Hotel’s “Guest Service” culture through personal actions, identifying areas for improvement, and participation in all aspects of providing our hotel’s guests with Superior Guest Service and demonstrates working knowledge of the EVEN operational standards.
· Oversees group blocks, rooming lists, and BEO’s ensuring accuracy using the PMS, CRM, and Outlook calendar.
· Work closely with the Front Desk to establish a hotel sales culture, identify notable reservations, cover breaks / lunches, and other duties as assigned.
· Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
· Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters.
· Assist with managing on-site production and clean up for events.
· Close out all events as required.
· Proper collection of all final payments and review final folios before sending to client.
· Professionally communicate both verbally and electronically with guests.
· Prepare and modify event contracts as requested.
· Manage banquet supplies and conduct monthly inventory.
· Maintains highest level of professionalism in activities and appearance at all times.
· Prepares and distributes internal/external correspondence, contracts, rooming lists, event schedules, and other documents in an accurate and timely manner, to include communication between staff and Food & Beverage Manager.
· Responsible for securing completed direct bill applications, distribution of group credit information, and accurate adherence to group billing procedures.
· Coordinate VIP guests for arrival, room assignments, and amenities.
· Maintains trace dates for contact follow-up and all actions necessary for group bookings.
· Completes weekly Sales Department Productivity Report via CRM.
· Monitors business trends and directs adjustments to Revenue Maximization Strategies.
· Assists in development of EVEN Marketing Plan and Budget as needed.
· Maintains organization of office for filing of documents, correspondence, and business records.
· Proficient in usage of MSWord, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
· Maintenance of computer data for Sales Department including updating and troubleshooting.
· Maintains work area in a clean and neat appearance at all times.
· Any other duties directed by the Director of Sales.
*QUALIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

*EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE* · High School Diploma required or a university degree in related field (preferred).
· Minimum two years’ experience in a Hotel Sales position · Prior experience in sales closing techniques is a plus · Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with a high degree of persuasiveness · Excellent telephone skills · Ability to handle multiple tasks with strict deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
· Must type at least 30 wpm and have high proficiency in MSWord, MS Excel, & MS Outlook · Must possess strong organizational skills, strong interpretation of sales reports, accuracy in document preparation, and detail oriented.
*LANGUAGE SKILLS* Excellent interpersonal skills a must Ability to communicate effectively with guests, clients, and co-workers in a professional manner.
Bi-lingual skills are a plus.
*MATHMATICAL SKILLS* Must be able to perform basic math functions, calculate revenue forecasts and analyze large amounts of numerical data.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $40,000.
00 - $45,000.
