We're an established multi-generational community of eight adults and a child who value home and connection.
If you have the time and inspiration to create, engage, organize, make, discuss, clean, sing, plant, bake, teach, or give to the people you live with, our home might be the place for you.
Our spacious home has ten bedrooms and six baths with both private and shared spaces indoors and outdoors.
Our large garden includes vegetables, herbs, hens, a beehive, and lots of mature fruit trees.
If you have strong communication and interpersonal skills, want to live a low impact lifestyle, can reliably complete house chores, and want to contribute to a culture of caring for each other, please be in contact us.
We're looking for someone who will be around for at least a year, preferably longer.
We take turns cooking nutritious vegetarian dinners (typically five nights a week.
) Meals are an important time for both sustenance and sharing.
In addition to buying organic food, we recycle, compost, and often use bicycles or walk to get places.
On a typical day you might find people talking in the kitchen, quietly reading in the living room, or out on a walk.
Our home is located on a quiet street two blocks from Sundance.
It's five blocks to the UO, two blocks to the bus line, and three blocks to the new YMCA (ask about a shared Y membership).
Our home is clean, bright, and colorful.
We have a hot tub, sauna, furnished guest room, fireplace, workshop with tools, deck, fully stocked kitchen, cob pizza oven, and much more.
We currently have two rooms available.
They're both $590/month Deposit: $600.
No first and last month's rent needed in advance.
A portion of rent goes to local non-profits serving unhoused people.
Utilities: $95 a month.
This includes: utilities (electricity, water, sewage, and stormwater), heat, garbage, wi-fi.
Photovoltaic panels provide nearly 100 percent of our electrical needs.
Groceries: $248-305 (sliding scale).
We purchase food together to saves time, money, and resources.
We harvest fruits and vegetables from the garden and enjoy eggs and honey from our hens and bees.
We serve as a farm drop site for summer produce.
While some people are omnivorous we are a vegetarian household and don't buy or prepare meat as a group.
Household items: $40 a month.
This includes such items as, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, canning jars, and tons of other things that you would have to pay for on your own if you lived by yourself.
Pets: One of our housemates has an allergy to pets so cats and dogs are probably not an option.
Other small animals may be possible.
If you're interested in living in community, please write a little about yourself.
We try to get back to you promptly but it sometimes can take awhile.
Because we want to make sure it's a good fit for you and us, our process for finding a housemate often takes two weeks or more.
