THE HOUSE: 3 bed/2 bath house in the Friendly neighborhood near Adams Elementary with a large fenced in yard and large driveway.
The cross streets are not through-streets so it is pretty quiet and doesn't get much traffic.
The living spaces are set up pretty well for privacy.
I live in the east wing with my own bathroom, and the rooms for rent are on the opposite side of the house and share a bathroom.
ROOMS: (first two pictures) There is 1 open bedroom in the west wing.
The room is about 12'x12' or so.
There is a small baseboard heater, windows with curtains, and a closet.
It is freshly painted and has a nice hardwood floor.
There is a queen size bed in the picture for context but the room is not furnished - though I do have a few items I could offer.
The rent is $800/month (including utilities, internet, etc).
There is a full bathroom next to the room that would be shared with the other renter (last two pictures).
SHARED SPACE: There is a large shared living room, dining room, kitchen, and laundry room.
There is also a large garage where I can offer storage on large shelves.
Fenced yard with plenty of space for gardening or just relaxing outside, and a nice gas grill.
Lots of parking - though I don't want a broken-down car, an RV or large boat.
YOU: CLEAN, quiet, respectful (to other housemates and neighbors), and responsible.
The lease will say you can’t sublet or Airbnb your room or have other people who aren’t on the lease living with you.
No smoking in the house.
I also prefer that you don't wear shoes in the house.
PETS: I would consider a well-behaved/house-broken dog depending on circumstances.
The fenced yard is good for it.
I take care of a friendly male lab/shepherd mix on the weekends, so it'd have to get along with other dogs well.
OTHER RENTER: clean, quiet, male, 45.
Of course he'd need to meet you before I agree on any new tenant.
ME: also 45, male and between careers right now, but I have part-time work and frequently at a volunteer job (FFLC).
I may be around the house in the daytime depending on my work situation, but I'm mostly quiet except for a little woodworking in the garage (opposite side of the house) and might occasionally have friends over for a BBQ on the weekend.
I also care for a dog on the weekends.
I'm interested in sports (soccer, skiing, hiking), art (photography, woodworking) and languages (Spanish and Japanese), gardening, and music.
Lease would be month to month, first month + last month + a security deposit.
I’m flexible about certain things but I am not going to take on anyone unless it is a good fit and your references check out.
