edu/en-us/job/532694/senior-real-property-officer *Department Summary* Campus Planning and Facilities Management (CPFM) is a vibrant department, which comprises five units, and approximately 270 employees: Facilities Services, Utilities & Energy, Campus Planning, Office of Sustainability, and Design & Construction.
The units of CPFM strive to provide excellent customer service to the University of Oregon campus and operate with the highest professional standards, communicating and collaborating with customers to support the stewardship of the campus.
Campus Planning guides the planning and design of campus to accommodate growth and change while preserving its heritage and enriching environments that support the university's mission of teaching, research and public service.

Campus Planning offers services in campus planning, community and transportation planning, historic preservation, real estate management, and space planning.
*Position Summary* This position has primary responsibility for overall management and oversight of campus real estate assets and activities including strategic planning, real estate transactions (leases, acquisitions, disposals, etc.
), development of real estate, documentation and records management, and the coordination of these activities with facilities planning on the main campus.
Incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing goals and processes related to real estate planning, development, leasing, acquisition, and objectives set by university leadership.
The Senior Real Property Officer negotiates, develops and administers building leases, acquisitions, and disposals.
Other responsibilities include: analyzing properties for lease or acquisition by the university, formulating and presenting recommendations to administration, completing due diligence processes, and managing the process of developing and implementing plans for the physical development of off-campus properties owned by the University.
This position must interpret, understand, comply, and manage internal processes related to University of Oregon Real Estate lease/purchase and tenant services policies and processes.
The Senior Real Property Officer reports to the Director of Campus Planning.
During the process of doing business, incumbent will work closely with the CPFM Associate Vice President and the Director of Campus Planning.
This position acts as primary liaison to property managers, brokers, agents and other real estate professionals regarding real property activities.
Incumbent works closely with UO General Counsel and UO purchasing and Contracting Services on legal aspects of real property transactions and to ensure compliance with relevant UO, City, State and Federal policies, laws, and regulations.
The Senior Real Property Officer supervises the Real Estate Property Coordinator position.
*Minimum Requirements* • Five-year history of professional experience in real estate consulting, development, or related activities.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business, Law, Real Estate, or a related field; OR an additional 5 years of professional experience in real estate consulting, development, or related activities.
*Professional Competencies* • Comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices, and laws related to real estate management, analysis, transactions (lease, purchase, disposal, easements, etc.
), development, and documentation.
• Ability to work with sensitive, confidential information discreetly, ethically, and in accordance with university policies and state policies.
• Demonstrates an ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing, with varied groups and to work effectively with university students, faculty, and staff, as well as with real estate and property management professionals, lessees, governmental entities, community groups, and the general public.
• Ability to assemble, organize, and present information derived from a variety of original and secondary sources.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the objectives, components, and structure of a research university.
• Manages people in a way that advances and supports the mission of the office and university and promotes employee morale.
Lead by example and maintains the highest ethical standards within the department and within the university.
• Demonstrates an ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
*Preferred Qualifications* • If using equivalent experience to meet minimum qualifications, preference will be given to candidates who have a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Eight or more years of professional experience in real estate consulting, development, or related activities • Experience with the functioning of a research university.
• Experience or training with real estate management and decision-making procedures within a large public educational institution.
• Experience as a Lead worker or supervisor.
