The Administrative Medical Assistant serves the patient and the provider by gathering and maintaining the necessary medical information in a cheerful, friendly, personable manner; providing quality patient care and helping to establish rapport between the provider and the patient.
If you are located in Eugene, OR, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responds to incoming phone calls and desktop items and refers if necessary.
Calls patients as directed by the provider and/or as necessary to follow up and/or schedule appointments
Obtains patient histories, medications, immunizations and other data in the Electronic Medical Record
Retrieves laboratory and radiology test results and instructs patients regarding medications and treatment per provider’s instructions
Understands and follows the approved prescription refill workflow and documentation requirements.
Communicates directly with provider for any refills that need provider input, or that do not meet the workflow requirements
Understands and interprets current immunization schedule
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
MA Certification from the AAMA, NCCT, NHA, or RMA required, or the ability to obtain certification within 60 days of hire
Healthcare provider level CPR/BLS certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
5+ years of Medical Assistant experience
Knowledge of medical terminology used to administer patient care
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with electronic medical record systems
Previous call center experience
