Lead Medication Aide/ Scheduler Position Summary: Maintains the med room.
Ensures med-aides are trained and are following procedures put in place by company and HSD.
Responsible for managing nursing staff schedule, including finding coverage for call outs.
Works closely with HSD to ensure community nursing staff are trained appropriately, are following company and state policy and procedures, and care plans.
Reports to: Health Services Director Position Responsibilities: Works with Med-Aides on physician, family and management communications.
Trains new Med-Aides and Nursing Assistants in policies and procedures.
Updates and manages nursing staff schedule and callouts with help/oversite from HSD.
Has the ability to cover shifts as needed, when coverage cannot be found.
Updates task sheets, shower and laundry schedules, as dictated by changes in care plans.
Manages the med-room including MAR, Med-Cart and Narc audits.
Is very communicative with HSD, ED, and other leadership staff.
Is able to build rapport easily with staff, residents and their families.
Has a good sense for leadership.
Helps with ordering and organizing medical supplies.
Quickly learns the practices and routines of the Med-Aides and Nursing Assistants on each shift.
Has the ability to take on additional tasks when requested.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Willingness to adhere to assisted living principles in providing services.
Ability/willingness to perform all position responsibilities adequately.
Keeps all resident information confidential.
Maintains acceptable attendance record/follows and manages work schedule.
Displays cleanliness, good grooming, personal appearance and follows dress requirements consistently.
Organizes and utilizes time appropriately toward accomplishing assigned tasks; requires minimal supervision Displays mature behavior and attitude in speech and action.
Displays ability/willingness to learn new skills and to teach others.
Interacts in professional manner with Residents, public and co-workers.
Works cooperatively with management.
Displays willingness to assist co-workers when situation requires.
Adequate and clear English speaking and writing ability; able to communicate effectively.
Ability to spend long periods on feet and to ambulate quickly.
Is free of non-treated communicable disease.
Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations.
Ability/willingness to follow all policies and procedures.
Is neat, accurate, dependable and keeps work/space clean.
Ability/willingness to work longer than eight (8) hour shift, to work holidays or overtime, to work seven (7) day schedule.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; 35 pounds regularly.
Routinely requires pushing, pulling, bending, walking, reaching, and stooping.
Must be able to squat, reach, stretch without distress, Must be able to tolerate extended periods walking, standing.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Completion of Qualified CNA program preferred.
CPR/First Aid certified preferred.
Minimum 1 year of scheduling/supervisory experience.
Minimum 1 year of med administration experience.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
CNA certification preferred.
