*This is for Three 12+ hours shifts: Three long work days, and the rest of your week off!* Primary job focus would be being a retina tech and training for scribing for ophthalmology/retina.
Standard eye tech skills are required.
Ability to accurately translate a patient/physician conversation and interaction into medical terminology, and diagnosis/assessments and plans (ICD-10 and CPT) are preferred.
Typing, EHR, computer skills are a must.
Basic knowledge of ophthalmic diseases and treatments is required.
Other Responsibilities: - Be able to perform preliminary eye examinations and tests, including measuring visual acuity, , and intraocular pressure.
- Be able to perform work up tasks with patient intake, including obtaining medical history and chief complaint.
- Prepare patients for ophthalmic procedures and assist ophthalmologists during examinations.
- Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the ophthalmologist.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as OCT and fundus photography.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in electronic health record systems.
Skills: - Knowledge of ophthalmic systems and procedures, and EHR.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical office procedures, including medical coding, is preferred.
- Experience in ophthalmology is required.
COA or above certifications would be preferred, as well as coding certification.
But this is not required Willingness to travel (ride in a van) in required.
