This position works under the direction of the Practice Administrator in providing high quality clerical assistance to the radiologist and clients.
Coordinates daily exam workflow and routing of completed exams.
Actively monitors priority exams and imaging filters to assure exams are dictated in a timely manner.
Supports the Operations Committee in creating, applying, and overseeing daily flow.
Distributes allocation and monitors radiologist’s daily schedule.
Multi-tasking and organizational skills are keys to the success of this position.
Complies with all policies and procedures and promotes positive co-worker relationships.
*Scope of Position:* * Reviews and analyzes technical data, financial facts, and individual/group needs to come to sound decisions.
Work performed under tight time constraints.
* Has broad knowledge and understanding of all business systems within the practice i.
e.
, PACS, RIS, and Voice Recognition, Microsoft Office and that of customers.
* Is able to assist with training on systems as needed.
* Point person for Radiologist to resolve system issues.
* Communicates equipment failure and physician preferences to appropriate staff.
* Reports system functionality issues as needed.
Supports effeicent workflow for the Radiologist.
* Handles preparation for Radiologist conferences.
* Runds audits daily to capture unread exams.
* Prepares and manages exams for interpretation by Radiologist, including consultative over-reads and for select facilities scheduling and prior exams/prior reports.
* Acts as liaison between Radiology Associates and clients.
Provides daily support to Radiology Associates clients and facilitates issue resolution.
* Informs the Radiologist(s) of stat, and priority cases.
Assists the technologist as required and retrieves reports for physician requests.
* Effectively communicates pending work for interpretation.
Monitors PACS filters to assure timely report turnaround.
* Demonstrates proficiency with radiology managing software, computer systems and electronic imaging devices, i.
e.
, PACS workstation.
* Knowledgeable of radiologist subspecialties and exam subspecialties.
* Keeps work area clean and organized with appropriate supplies.
Monitors supply inventory.
* Supports and cooperates with other departments/clients to accomplish company objectives.
* Tracks and documents call from answering service to Radiologist.
Investigates any breakdown in communication and incorrect pages.
Assist the answering service with weekly schedule questions.
Update call lines and Pulsara coverage.
* Track all requests that route through workflow to completing, including but not limited to, Radiologist addendum requests, transcription errors, and significant findings.
* Attends IT meetings as needed to identify potential changes to Workflow or Radiologist flow.
* Manual inspection of particular general exams to assess if subspecialty reader needed prior to assignment.
Follows fluctuating allocation rules depending on volume.
Manage and coordinate reading of exams according to offsite readers.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
*Education/Experience:* Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Work experience should demonstrate familiarity with general office procedures, computers, multi-line telephone systems, and knowledge of medical terminology.
Prior healthcare experience required.
Radiology experience preferred.
Basic math is required and is used daily (timetables, addition and subtraction).
*Physical Abilities:* While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift/carry/push/pull and/or moves up to 10 pounds.
