Beyond the required education and experience instructors must have a passion for what they teach, and have teaching styles that support student success.
Instructors are responsible for following Division and College procedures in support of teaching and learning.

04 Salary/Compensation Statement: This is a one-year appointment.
Upon College approval and an agreement between the College and the Head Coach, this position may be renewed.
$17,621.
04 stipend for coaching duties related to the pre-season, in-season, post-season and out of season.
No faculty part-time seniority is accrued in coaching assignments or any sport-specific physical education class that is directly sport-related.

The Part-time Faculty benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, and paid sick leave.
Part-time faculty may be eligible for full contracted benefits after meeting certain criteria.
Grant Statement: Working Schedule: Coaching hours vary and may include days, evenings, weekends, travel and other hours as required by the coaching schedule.
Candidates must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including extensive travel, nights and weekends.

Position Purpose: To provide a successful, high quality and competitive experience for the student-athletes as it relates to the goals of the department and college.
Develop a competitive intercollegiate Women’s Volleyball team that reflects Lane’s Vision, Mission, and Values while demonstrating a strong work ethic, high levels of integrity, and honesty.
Essential Functions: Head coaching responsibilities for Women’s Volleyball will include both pre-season, in-season, post-season and out of season responsibilities.
Coaching responsibilities include recruiting, training, supervising student-athletes, maintaining a working knowledge of the rules governing the sport to be coached, scheduling contests, maintaining statistics, making transportation arrangements, preparing budgets, fund-raising, maintaining athletic equipment, facilities and supplies, travel, and, in collaboration with the Athletic Director, selecting and supervising assistant coaches.
Provide leadership in the personal, athletic and academic development of student-athletes.
Develop strategies to actively recruit and retain an eligible Women’s Volleyball team roster consisting of between 12 and 18 student-athletes throughout each academic year as determined in consultation with the Athletic Director.
Successfully manage the Women’s Volleyball allocation of tuition waivers.
Monitor the Women’s Volleyball student-athletes academic progression and completion that culminates in degree or certificate completion and transfer.
Assist in the placement and tracking of Women’s Volleyball team student-athletes in transferring to four-year colleges/universities.
Maintain comprehensive records of student-athletes’ future academic and athletic progress.
Develop and seek fund-raising to support the success of the Women’s Volleyball program.
Ensure adherence to all Lane Community College, Athletics Department, Northwest Athletic Conference, and other regulatory agencies rules, policies and procedures by the Women’s Volleyball programs student-athletes, coaches and staff.
Successfully develop and implement game strategy, position assignments and plan all practice/training sessions.
Work cooperatively with other sport Head Coaches and support staff to ensure proper scheduling, field usage and care of facilities.
Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students.

This position coordinates, trains, and assists with the recruitment of assistant coaches.
Physical Demands/Working Environment: Work safely; may work in inclement weather; ability to lift or transport forty (40) pounds with or without assistance; will stand or sit for extended periods of time.
