The *Representative Payee Position* will be responsible for the following:
A Representative Payee’s main duties are to use the client’s benefits to pay for the current and future needs of the beneficiary, and properly save any benefits not currently needed
· Maintain a manageable caseload of individuals receiving Social Security Benefits
· Regular contact with clients, case managers and care providers
· Advocate for clients
· Respond in a courteous, professional and timely manner to high needs clients
*Essential Responsibilities*:
· Develop expertise in the area of Supplemental Security Income and Social Security Disability Income eligibility and other related benefits (Medicaid, Medicare, Etc.
)
· Prepare and maintain financial budgets specific to each client’s needs
· Complete comprehensive reviews of clients residential, financial and medical information using a variety of sources to ensure continued SSA/SSI benefit eligibility
· Use Excel, Word and Representative Payee Manager Software to complete data entry projects and reports
Background check will be completed.
This position is full time, Monday – Friday, working 40 hours per week (day shift)
Working from our Springfield location.
*Qualifications*
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills – both verbal and written – with the ability to build a genuine rapport easily
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple clients and opportunities
· Strong computer technical skills with the ability to learn new programs easily
· Grasp of fundamental budgeting techniques and basic calculation skills
