RN - LEAD RN - Operating Room employment opportunity! Full Time: 40 hours per week, Day Shift, M-F.
No Holidays, No Weekends, No Call.
Fast-paced, team-oriented environment! Day Surgery at RiverBend is a multispecialty surgery center with three (3) operating rooms.
We are looking for a team oriented person who is interested in being part of our group.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The LEAD Registered Nurse provides AND overseas nursing care to patients in compliance with, but not limited to, the Standards of Practice as defined by ANA, Joint Commission, AORN, CMS, State Practice Act Standards, organization protocols, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Develops, implements, evaluates, and revises plan of care based on physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of the patient/caregiver.
Maintains clinical knowledge and skills competencies to facilitate patient care in accordance with current standards of practice and monitors the environment to provide safe patient care.
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS: Demonstrates cooperative work attitude toward and with employees, physicians, management, patients, families, visitors, contract service providers and vendors.
Consistently interacts in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative and professional.
*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: OR LEAD NURSE* 1.
Creates daily schedule for assigned department based on individual patient needs, patient acuity, technological demands, staff member competency, skill mix, nursing and operating room practice standards, health care regulations, accreditation requirements, and state staffing laws.
2.
Responsible for scheduling and supporting department staff breaks and lunches.
3.
Communicates effectively with Leads from other departments regarding daily needs.
4.
Coordinates surgery schedule changes with appropriate personnel.
5.
In coordination with the Clinical Director, responsible for maintaining departments’ staff education files.
6.
Responsible for coordinating and communicating appropriately daily operational needs in operating rooms.
7.
Responsible for achieving and maintaining knowledge of the most current standards of care per department.
8.
In coordination with the Clinical Director, responsible for maintaining department compliance.
9.
Responsible for medication orders and medication management, safety, and compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – CIRCULATING NURSE, OPERATING ROOM 1.
Ensures patient readiness for surgery including, but not limited to, NPO status, medication administration, surgical site verification and marking and chart completeness.
2.
Implements plan of care safely and effectively and provides safe environment, including, but not limited to: a.
Positioning patient safely, padding bony prominences and ensuring respiratory and circulatory protection b.
Ensuring correct prepping and draping procedures c.
Conducting “time-out” process prior to incision to ensure correct patient, correct, procedures, and correct surgical site.
d.
Ensuring asepsis during all procedures.
Opens and presents sterile items to sterile field aseptically; ensures supplies are not expired.
e.
Accounting for all sponges, needles, sharps, during and after the procedures and documenting appropriately.
3.
Demonstrates competence in preparing and cleaning of operating room suites before, between, and after cases.
4.
Accurately records, labels, and handles specimens.
5.
Is able to perform all duties of a circulating room nurse.
6.
Gives thorough report of patient’s intra-operative condition to PACU nurse.
7.
Collaborates with other members of the surgical team to ensure efficient turn-around time between each procedure.
TEAM WORK 1.
Communicates patient information to assure confidentiality and continuity of care 2.
Interacts with professional staff, patients, families, visitors, fellow employees in a mature, responsible manner to ensure a positive and professional facility environment 3.
Diffuses/resolves conflict by appropriately communicating with those involved.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $2,000.
