We are looking for an energetic, motivated Ophthalmic Assistant, Technician and/or Scribe to join our team.
All applicants must have excellent communication and customer service skills, be attentive and precise.
The goal of an Ophthalmic Technician is to help make a patient's experience as relaxed and comfortable as possible while working quickly and efficiently.
Keeping a calm and poised demeanor, while being able to juggle many tasks simultaneously, is a must.

*Minimum Qualifications:*
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Paper chart & EHR experience a big plus.
* Knowledge of medical instrumentation and its proper care and usage needed within the field of Ophthalmology
* Knowledge of medical intake & exam documentation with paper charts
* COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant) or COT (Certified Ophthalmic Technician) strongly preferred
* Priority given to candidates with ophthalmic technician and scribing experience!

* Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms and ocular medications.
* Has knowledge of contact lenses.
* Utilizes proper eye drop technique and sterility.

*Job Duties/Responsibilities:*
* Promptly and professionally provide direct care to 2-3 patients per hour.
* Must be willing to help in all areas and understand the need for efficient use of time.
* Assist doctors when needed.
* Performing technical workups and special testing.
* Returning phone calls to patients and pharmacies in a timely manner.
* Respond to refill requests
* Schedule and confirm appointments as needed
* Maintain and clean equipment and exam rooms.
* Efficiently and accurately interview patients and document histories.
* Accurately perform (Technician components of exam, Tonometry, Refractions, Diagnostic Testing (OCT’s, Visual Fields, Fundus Photos, Lenstar/IOL Master, Topography),
* Other duties as assigned by management and/or physicians
