We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optometric Technician to join our team.
As an Optometric Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting the optometrist in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients.
Your primary responsibilities will include performing various diagnostic tests, gathering patient information, and providing support during eye examinations.
```Duties```
- Conduct preliminary tests and measurements, including visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception
- Obtain and record patient medical history and chief complaints
- Perform diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing
- Administer eye drops or medications as directed by the optometrist
- Educate patients on proper eye health practices and answer any questions or concerns
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Clean and maintain equipment and instruments used in examinations
```Qualifications```
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification or associate degree in optometric technology preferred
- Previous experience as an Optometric Technician or in a similar role is desirable
- Familiarity with optometry procedures, equipment, and terminology is a plus
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing practices is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
- Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry and electronic medical records
