Responsible for decision-making and problem solving on the unit.
Teaches, guides and evaluates the performance of staff, including completion of performance appraisals and counseling.
Performs established nursing procedures for patients based on the core competencies described in the staff nurse job description.
Mandatory evening and weekend call.
Educational/Licensing: Current licensure as RN, State of Oregon.
Specific clinical experience may be required for specific position.
Current BLS certification required.
ACLS certification required within 3 months of transfer or hire into position.
Certifications must be approved through the American Heart Association.
Moderate Sedation course required within 3 months of hire.
Qualifications: Effective communication and decision making.
Assessment of staff competence and commitment to direct, coach support and delegate.
Coordination of patient needs with staff skills and knowledge.
Initiation and participation in problem solving on the unit and throughout the hospital.
Consistency in and commitment to monitoring staff performance and facilitating education and skill development.
Providing positive recognition and constructive feedback to staff.
Provides input on employees job performance in collaboration with unit Supervisor and/or Manager when completing employee performance appraisals; in a timely manner.
1 year of prior endoscopy experience recommended.
Prior charge or leadership experience required.
Education Preferred Bachelors or better in Nursing or related field Licenses & Certifications Required L-OR-RN License C-ARC-ALS C-ARC-BLS
