All Caregivers Must be Able to: Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with clients and the client’s family.
Immediately report to the office, any actual or suspected; financial, physical, sexual, emotional, or verbal abuse of your client.
Maintain confidentiality regarding the client's personal information, including services a client receives (HIPPA).
Remain calm in emergency situations and follow company emergency procedures.
Always follow universal precaution.
Adhere to company dress code and maintains professional appearance at all times.
Exemplify team work by refraining from talking negatively about our company, other caregivers, and other team members to anyone other than the direct supervisor.
Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
Arrive on time for all care visits.
Clock in and out on time.
Return phone calls and texts to the office promptly.
Handle multiple priorities efficiently and effectively.
Deliver all services in a caring and respectful manner.
Attend monthly training meetings on a regular basis.
Provide input regarding client’s progress and needs to other caregivers and the Care Advocate.
Caregivers Level 1: Provide companionship, friendship and emotional support by talking, listening, sharing experiences, and engaging clients in activities that are pleasing to them.
Escort clients to medical facilities, errands, shopping, and outings as specified in the care plan.
Shop and runs errands for clients using clients’ money.
Complete accurate mileage logs and purchase logs.
Clean kitchen.
Clean bathroom.
Provide routine housekeeping activities such as dusting, vacuuming, making beds and mopping.
Wash, dry, and put away laundry.
Change bed linens and makes beds.
Assist with basic yard care: watering and weeding Prepare nutritious and appetizing breakfasts, lunches and dinners as needed.
Provide medication reminders.
Cue clients while eating.
Assist with pet care: watering, walking, litter boxes, etc.
Caregivers Level 2: Assist client with meal planning and meal prepping in accordance to dietary restrictions.
Stand by assist with ambulation using walker, cane, handrails or stairs.
Stand by assist when client is bathing or showering.
Stand by assist when client is dressing or undressing.
Hands on assist client with grooming and shaving as needed.
Hands on assist client with oral care and denture care including brushing and flossing.
Stand by assist clients with toileting.
Stand by assist client with transferring client in and out of bed, wheel chair, toilet, vehicle and shower.
Experience with mild dementia and difficult behaviors.
Caregivers Level 3: Provide medication administration.
Fill secondary medication containers from written medication list.
Accurately complete and maintain medication administration records.
Hands on assist with all ambulation.
Train clients on proper walker usage techniques.
Hands on assist clients with bathing and showering.
Provide clients with bed baths.
Hands on assist clients with dressing and undressing.
Hands on assist client with putting in and taking out their dentures.
Assist with recommended PT and OT exercises.
Hands on assist clients with toileting.
Perform external catheter care.
Change adult briefs and maintain good skin condition for incontinent clients.
Hands on assist with all transferring.
Perform stand pivot transfers, slide board transfers and transfers using a gait belt.
Experience with moderate dementia, moderate difficult behaviors, Parkinson's Disease, and clients who are moderately impaired due to stroke.
Reposition chair-bound and bed-bound clients at least once every 2 hours.
Caregivers Level 4: Experience with severe dementia and difficult behaviors.
Demonstrate the ability to calmly and appropriately assist, advise and comfort family at the time of a client’s passing.
Perform occupied bed changes.
Perform transfers with a Hoyer Lift.
Experience with clients with severe dementia and difficult behaviors, severe Parkinson’s Disease, Hospice Patients, and clients who are severely impaired due to a stroke.
