EMPLOYMENT ANNOUNCEMENT Harrisburg is located in the Mid-Willamette Valley between Eugene and Corvallis.
The school district operates on a 4-day (Monday-Thursday) week.
POSTING DATE: November 28, 2023 POSITION: Director of Finance 1 FTE, Flexible Hours and Days.
Remote or onsite work allowed.
The person in this position is under the general supervision of the Superintendent and is responsible for providing the financial leadership necessary for creating and maintaining conditions for a high level of credibility, accountability, and efficiency within the District.
To ensure the District’s financial well-being, the Director of Finance assists in planning, organizing, directing, and managing the overall financial and business functions.
The person in this position also supervises employees in the Business Office and oversees the food services program.
The person hired for this position will have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule that may include working remotely and onsite.
ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: Competitive Salary and outstanding benefits package Placement on the salary schedule will be commensurate with education, experience, and work schedule.
District policy GCBA will be implemented.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
Serve as an advisor to the Superintendent on questions related to management of the District.
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate accounting staff in the business office.
Maintain a working knowledge of the laws of the state of Oregon applicable to school business.
Keep accurate District records on all financial transactions using Infinite Visions software.
Complete required monthly reports to the Superintendent for distribution to the Board.
Provide helpful financial reporting and forecasting data for District use.
Prepare journal entries and vouchers, to post to District books.
Establish and supervise a program of accounting to record in detail all money and credit transactions, including student body funds.
Manage and prepare the annual budget within District guidelines and ensure fiscal compliance.
Oversee audit preparations and ensure compliance.
Monitor and track all revenues and expenditures of the District.
Administer and manage the District’s cash flow, and investment funds that support the goals of the District.
Maintain accurate accounts payable/receivable files and bank account balances, including depositing funds received into District bank accounts and reconciling all accounts monthly.
Establish payroll schedules and complete the District payroll each month, including all payroll taxes.
Coordinate employee benefits and PERS tracking.
Serve as District liaison, communicating and corresponding regarding OEBB, PERS, employee benefits, payroll, and the budget.
Provide supervision of all liability insurance coverage, contracts, agreements, and transactions affecting the District, including Worker’s Compensation Insurance.
Manage the budget of the Food Service Program, including all federal reporting, claims, and the Summer Food Program.
Maintain confidential records and inquiries.
Represents the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students.
Complete required reports to local, state, and federal government agencies.
Maintain appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
Comply with applicable District, state, local, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Preference is given to candidates with prior successful school district business experience and knowledge of federal and state school funding laws.
We are interested in finding a candidate who has the skills needed for success and who may come from a less traditional background.
