Bad information concerning Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income Disability claims is everywhere.
Myths, rumors, outright lies.
Get the facts.
Contact me.
Read my little two and a half page summary that I send out to anyone with questions.
Then, once you know what's ahead of you, contact me again if you still have questions, and we can talk about your specific situation.
To be clear: I DON'T CHARGE ANYTHING FOR CONSULTATIONS.
I also don't represent claimants any more.
I'm retired and simply consult.
I realize worrying about one kind of scam or another is part of everyday life so let me make this clear as well: NO, I don't need your name, address, phone number, and certainly not your Social Security number, not even the last four digits.
You can write to me completely anonymously if you want.
You can use hypotheticals.
I'll still send you the same information I've been sending everyone who's contacted me since I began doing this roughly 9 years ago.
I neither need nor want your private information.
Why would I do this for free? Because a lot of people have incomplete, or completely incorrect, information about how to qualify for benefits.
I want to change that for as many people as want to learn, especially while the Affordable Care Act is still providing insurance to so many who didn't have it before 2014.
Also because I ABSOLUTELY HATE the way ACTUALLY DISABLED claimants are denied benefits every single day because of insane hoops/red tape created by lobbyists for million-/billionaires who write our laws, and our "representatives" who allow it in a quid pro quo for "donations.
" ("Quid pro quo? No, that can't be true.
It's just a coincidence that the oil industry has written most of the laws applied to it.
" Replace "oil industry" with any industry you care to and it still holds up.
) Also I'm retired, and so I have a lot of free time.
To OHP members in particular: I know many of us have worried about losing our OHP due to politics in D.
C.
Unfortunately even with the current administration, old Moscow Mitch and his gang could eventually get their way, in which case many states may have no choice but to cut a lot of Medicaid budgets.
I hope this doesn't happen.
I mention it because if you feel you have a case for a disability claim and are dependent on OHP then, no matter how difficult it may be, you need to act on your claim while you have the health insurance that will allow you to gather your evidence.
Good luck all.
