About the job *** Swing Shift: 1:30 PM - 12:00 AM (Tuesday - Friday) The CDL Driver is responsible for safely transporting varied material types including palletized product and raw materials to and from multiple facilities.
Driver also helps pick orders and provides support to projects.
The position requires the safe use of multiple vehicle types and equipment including semi-trucks and trailers, Bobtail box trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks and others.
When not performing transfers of materials to other facilities, time will be spent supporting on-site material handlers and associated work.
Essential Functions for CDL A Driver/Material Handler: Ensures proper receipt, storage, picking, transfer, and delivery of materials located in ambient, freezer, and cold storages, and ensures all paperwork is properly completed and accurate.
Some out-of-town transportation may be required.
Maintains compliance requirements for Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), and carefully follows all local and state mandated regulations.
Actively monitors health of transportation equipment and addresses issues or escalates to leadership for support.
Operates tractors, trailers, and material handling equipment for transfer of products to and from production areas, including multiple off-site storage locations throughout the greater Eugene and Springfield areas.
Provide all production materials before and during a production run.
Returning unused materials to the proper location following a production run.
Maintain plant FIFO throughout facility and follow WH SOP’s and standards.
Ensure waste/recycling materials (pallets, buckets, barrels, cardboard) are organized and placed in the appropriate location.
Prestaging and consolidating materials on pallets to meet production and storage needs.
Maintains, cleans, and organizing warehouses and workspaces to meet plant standards.
Loading pallets of finished goods onto trailers, as needed.
Unloading materials/ingredients from trailers and hot/cold storage areas.
About you High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Must have one year of CDL Driving & Warehouse experience.
Must have a valid Oregon CDL Class A Driver's License & the ability to pass a driving records check, pre-employment screening including a DOT drug screen, background check, & medical certification.
Must also have the ability to obtain a valid forklift operator's license & comply with ODOT random drug/alcohol testing program.
