The Eugene Water & Electric Board is currently seeking an Application Configuration Administrator to install, manage, and maintain infrastructure applications that are critical to the ongoing Information Technology Operations of EWEB.

Duties and Responsibilities: Install, configure, integrate, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial off the shelf software in support of the utilities business and information technology needs Maintain configuration state information including configuration options, standard configuration, integrations, break/fix resolution.
Collaborate and communicate with business unit representatives and technology staff Establish and maintain an accurate inventory of software and related dependencies Utilize configuration management tools to deploy and maintain consistent system state Measure and monitor application performance and availability statistics Evaluate and communicate supportability of application solutions and security risks associated with software configuration options and remediate prioritized and significant risks Understand and propose standard software deployment strategies including architectures that support availability goals Align business requirements to technical implementation decisions After-hours support and on-call participation as required by EWEB on-call policy The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and direct experience in: Diagramming and visual display skillsusing Visio and Powerpoint Work tracking toolslike JIRA and Azure DevOps Continual Improvement Practices ITSM familiarity Read and understand software documentation Load balancing and high availability configuration experience Proactive problem solving Understanding of the layers of the internet protocol suite Systems administration skills Software troubleshooting skills Knowledge of IP networking and troubleshooting Knowledge and practice with firewall and security strategies Intermediate scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or other modern scripting or programming language Use of revision control systems Minimum Training and Experience Required: Minimum Experience: Four years of progressively responsible experience in Local Area Network, server administration, and workstation hardware and software support.
Experience must include one or more of the following areas: network design, development and management storage area network, virtualization, data protection and IP telephony systems and technologies.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or related field with technical courses in Networks and other IT infrastructure, server and personal computer hardware, operating system software or other applicable technical education.
Desirable education, experience, training and certifications: Preferred experience with technology from vendors: Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, Red Hat, Juniper, CommVault, Panduit, Rittal, VMWare, Altiris, Oralcle, Interactive Intelligence.
Novell Certified Network Engineer or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Certification.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be qualifying.
Post-offer background check required: Yes The starting salary for this position is $87,497 - $109,372 commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position.
