Vintage Handmade Boy's Knitted Wool Sweater, 1948, One Owner, OOAK - $40 (Santa Clara/Eugene)

This handmade wool sweater was made for a good friend in 1948 when he was about 14.

he's now 89.
He recalls enjoying wearing it while in 8th grade in New York state.
As can be seen here, the garment has been well preserved since then, kept in storage or a dark dry closet.
Being handmade for one favorite person in particular, there is no label.
• Kept in an animal-free, smoke-free environment • See last image diagram for measurements • Weight is 1 lb.

• The nine buttons appear to be pewter and are all intact and well secured.
• The "grosgrain ribbon" lining strip (either silk or nylon) that surrounds the buttonholes is intact except for the occasional loose thread.
• There are only areas of discoloration that I found are on the left side of the center design in image 6.
This great-looking sweater is still quite wearable.
