GOBHI has an immediate opening for a full-time Therapeutic Foster Care Training Specialist and we are flexible on the home office location within the state of Oregon.
The TFC Training Specialist is responsible for the program’s training design, development, implementation, and oversight to ensure compliance with Oregon Administrative Rules and develop a high-performing team of Proctor Foster Parents and program staff.
This includes facilitation of training and consultation, development of resources, and coordination with others to meet program needs.
Essential duties include: Case Management – utilize Collaborative Problem Solving, conduct ongoing case management Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to training and development of curriculum to update, coach, and train a high-performing team of foster parents and program staff; empowering them to operate with programmatic and operational excellence and compliance with OAR’s.
Develops and maintains systems, processes, training plans and practices to ensure consistent, high-quality training for both program staff and foster parents.
Provides on-the-job coaching, mentoring and support to Foster Parents and staff on topics including but not limited to relevant OARs, CPS skills, trauma-informed practices and appropriate behavior interventions for children with high behavioral needs.
Responsible for QA/QI on foster parent and staff training and service documentation standards.
Responsible for ensuring all foster parent and staff training requirements are met and all trainings documented.
Exercises discretion and independent judgment in determining whether or not foster parent service documentation meets Medicaid Standards.
Contributes to the review and development of policies and procedures.
Evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand.
Travel to community meetings and events to represent GOBHI.
Provide individual, in-person, skills training for youth and families as needed.
Work as a part of the training team and the treatment foster care team.

org Requirements: What is needed to succeed in this role: Experience/Education – Bachelor’s degree required with major study in social work, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field and two year’s experience in the care and treatment of children and youth, or Master’s degree with major study in social work or closely related field and at least one year experience in the care and treatment of children and youth.
One year of experience facilitating trainings or support/process groups.
Certified in Collaborative Problem Solving with Think Kids or ability to complete within six months of hire.
Certified in Verbal Intervention with the Crisis Prevention Institute or ability to complete within six months of hire.
Communication skills – ability to present, recommend, and listen at a high functioning level.
Flexible – able to multi-task in response to time-sensitive and changing situations.
Strong planning and organizational skills and follows through.
Positive attitude – ability to approach problems in a positive manner.
Tech Savvy – Experience using Microsoft Office and Google Suites products.
Complete Covid Vaccination required or a documented reasonable accommodation.
Maintain a good driving record and required vehicle insurance.
Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.
