Job Description:
As a Corporate Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our auto group.
You will be responsible for overseeing accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive dealership finance and accounting, with excellent analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Audit balance sheet and AP/AR to identify potential issues.
Manage the budgeting process and monitor financial performance against targets.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies to include Privilege tax, CAT tax, and California sales tax.
Work closely with external auditors to facilitate annual audits, 401k Audits and Workers compensation audits.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor accounting department staff/dealership office managers.
Provide training and guidance on financial processes and procedures.
Participate in all hiring and training of accounting staff.
Reporting:
Generate regular financial reports for management review.
Regularly review and improve dealertrack setups to include chart of accounts.
Regularly audit reports for accuracy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Controller in an automotive dealership setting.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Effective communication and leadership abilities.
Full time in office position
Limited Travel expectations.
